Tips & Tricks from Real Parents

1

Book Afrykarium tickets online (including timed entry) at least 2 days ahead — weekend walk-up tickets can sell out by 11 AM.

2

The gondola ride gives panoramic views of the entire zoo and Szczytnicki Park — do it mid-visit as a break for tired legs.

3

The underwater tunnel at Afrykarium is best viewed from the moving walkway — let your kid stand on the left side while you ride the belt, they’ll feel like they’re swimming with the sharks.

4

The children’s zoo has goat and sheep feeding at 1 PM — arrive 10 min early for a brush.

5

Combine with the adjacent Japanese Garden in Szczytnicki Park — it’s free and stunning in cherry blossom season (April).

A Real Parent's Story

A hippo swam right over our heads

In the Afrykarium, a massive hippo floated directly above our family in the underwater tunnel. My 5-year-old screamed ‘Mommy, there’s a giant rock with a face!’ We laughed so hard we almost missed the shark swimming past.

Wrocław Zoo is world-class. The Afrykarium alone is worth the trip — five huge aquariums with different African ecosystems. The manatee exhibit has a glass dome where you can watch them from below. We spent 6 hours and still didn’t see everything. The food court has decent kids’ meals for 25 PLN. A full-day experience worth the price.
