Tips & Tricks from Real Parents

1

This is NOT for kids afraid of the dark. The cave is pitch black for 80 meters. Bring a waterproof flashlight.

2

Choose a longtail boat (not speedboat). The ride is gentler and local guides know the tides better.

3

Go at low tide when the cave entrance is higher and the water inside is calmest.

4

Pack waterproof pouches for phones. You will swim through the cave holding your belongings above water.

5

Combine with snorkeling at Koh Kradan and a beach lunch for a full Trang islands day trip.

A Real Parent's Story

My 7-year-old held my hand through the dark and emerged a hero

She was terrified entering the dark cave. I held her hand and we swam together. When we emerged into the emerald lagoon, she gasped. 'We found Narnia, Mommy.' I cried.

The Emerald Cave is everything you have seen in photos and more. Swimming through the dark tunnel is genuinely thrilling. The lagoon inside is surreal. We were the first boat there at 8:30 AM. No crowds. Just us, the emerald water, and a secret beach. Best experience in Trang.
