Tips & Tricks from Real Parents
Buy the 'Free Pass' at the gate instead of per-ride tickets if your kid wants to go on everything. At 2,500 yen, it pays for itself after 4 rides.
The Bee Tower drop ride is surprisingly thrilling for its size. Best for ages 6+ who want a 'big kid' thrill.
Combine with Sensoji Temple next door. They're a 5-minute walk apart. Morning at temple, afternoon at Hanayashiki.
The park is compact. You can see everything in 2-3 hours even at a toddler's pace.
Skip the ninja maze if your kid scares easily. The dark hallway and sudden effects make it more intense than the brochure suggests.

A Real Parent's Story
My 4-year-old's first 'big' roller coaster
“The mini roller coaster goes maybe 30km/h. Our daughter screamed with joy the whole 75-second ride. She rode it six times. Best $6 we've ever spent.”

We'd been in Tokyo a week and blown our budget at Disney Sea. A local friend told us about Hanayashiki. The roller coaster is adorable — it winds between buildings and you can see SkyTree from the top. Our daughter was tall enough by 2cm. She came off the first run and yelled 'AGA-CHA!' (again). We handed over another 600 yen, then another, then another. Six rides. Every one her favorite. Zero regrets.
