A Real Parent's Story

She brushed an Icelandic horse for an hour

Our 3-year-old found a grooming brush and spent an hour brushing an Icelandic horse that patiently stood there, occasionally sighing with contentment.

We came to Iceland for the geothermal pools and Northern Lights. The family park was a 'maybe' on our list. It became our favorite memory. The Icelandic horses are incredibly gentle and patient. Our toddler grabbed a brush and just went to work on this one horse's mane. The horse stood perfectly still for over an hour. A zookeeper came over and taught us about the horses' unique tolt gait. My daughter still draws pictures of 'her' horse.
