Tips & Tricks from Real Parents
Buy the 'Expocity Passport' for access to all attractions at a discount — it pays for itself after 3 activities.
NIFREL aquarium is unlike traditional aquariums — it's designed around senses (touch pools, scent gardens) and has a massive open-top seal pond.
The ferris wheel is beautiful at sunset but queues can hit 40 minutes — go during the lunch hour when lines are shortest.

A Real Parent's Story
More than a shopping mall — this is a legit day out
“I expected a mall zoo and got a genuinely cool aquarium and a ferris wheel that made my husband queasy.”

Expocity surprised me. The NIFREL aquarium is genuinely unique — fish tanks blend into art installations, and the 'Touch Pool' lets kids handle sea stars and anemones with staff supervision. The ferris wheel is terrifyingly tall (123m) but the views over the Expo '70 Commemorative Park are stunning. The food court is mall-tier but affordable. My daughter's favorite part was the indoor trampoline park — an extra 1,000 yen well spent.
