Tips & Tricks from Real Parents

1

Visit between 4 PM and sunset when the temperature drops and the beach comes alive with local families.

2

The beach has separate family areas from single men's areas so look for the family section sign near the playground.

3

Pack water shoes as the sand can get hot mid-afternoon and there are small shells near the waterline.

4

Beach chairs and umbrellas are free at most sections unlike paid beaches in Dubai and Europe.

5

Dinner at one of the Shatti Al Qurum restaurants after sunset is a family tradition with Omani halwa for dessert.

A Real Parent's Story

The sunset that stopped time

We sat on the sand at Qurum Beach at sunset. My kids were building sandcastles and locals were playing football. No jet skis. No loud music. Just the waves and families. That is Oman.

After days of theme park chaos in Dubai, Qurum Beach was therapy. The water was calm and warm enough for my toddler to float with floaties. Older kids were playing football with a Omani family who wave to everyone. The sunset was spectacular. We ate grilled fish at a beachfront restaurant for 25 dollars for four people. Oman feels like the Gulf before everyone discovered it.
