A Real Parent's Story

The Planetarium That Made My Son Think We Were in Space

The 3D planetarium show was so immersive my 6-year-old grabbed my arm and whispered, are we really in space?

We came to the Science Center on a whim after seeing the cone-shaped building from the ferry. The planetarium is the real star -- a massive dome with a 3D projection system that makes you feel like you are flying through the solar system. My son was completely silent for the first 5 minutes. The hands-on exhibits on the lower floors are excellent with a children science area featuring bridge building, a wind tunnel, and a giant bubble machine. The staff speak good English. We spent 3 hours and could have stayed longer.
