A Real Parent's Story
My train-obsessed 4-year-old thought he'd died and gone to heaven
“He drove a miniature Shinkansen, climbed into a real steam engine, and watched the turntable rotate with actual locomotives.”

Our youngest is obsessed with trains. This museum was his Mecca. The highlight was the turntable demonstration — they rotate a real steam locomotive on a giant turntable every hour, and kids can stand behind the safety barrier and watch it rumble past. The indoor play area has wooden train tables where kids spent another 30 minutes. We had to drag him out after 3 hours. At 1,500 yen for adults and free for primary school kids, it's incredible value.
