Tips & Tricks from Real Parents

1

The audio guide is included and excellent -- kids get a special children's channel with fun facts and stories instead of dry dates.

2

The park is mostly outdoor. Go on a clear day as rain sends everyone indoors to the small exhibition hall and it gets cramped.

3

The Train of Istanbul miniature railway is a hit with train-obsessed kids -- it runs through the entire park every 20 minutes.

4

Allow 2-3 hours. The park is not huge but there is so much detail that slow exploration is the way to go.

5

The on-site restaurant serves decent Turkish food at fair prices. The gozleme (savory pancakes) are fresh and kid-approved.

A Real Parent's Story

He saw all of Turkey in one afternoon

My 8-year-old is obsessed with geography. He spent 3 hours walking from landmark to landmark using the audio guide and mapping where he wants to visit for real.

Miniaturk is one of those attractions that is both educational and genuinely fun. The miniatures are incredibly detailed. My daughter loved the Cappadocia section with the fairy chimneys and hot air balloons. The playground at the back is a lifesaver.
