Tips & Tricks from Real Parents
The rainforest zone is humid and warm -- dress in layers because the rest of the aquarium is air-conditioned and the temperature swing is jarring.
The Amazon Flooded Forest tunnel is the best photo spot. Go early before the reflection of other visitors ruins your shots.
Touch pool sessions run at 11 AM and 2 PM. Arrive 10 minutes early as staff sanitize hands and limit group size.
They charge extra for the 5D cinema inside. Skip it -- it is a 10-minute cartoon that rattles younger kids. Stick to the main exhibits.
The aquarium is in Florya, about 30 minutes from Sultanahmet. Combine with a visit to Florya Beach for a full day trip.

A Real Parent's Story
She touched a starfish and her jaw dropped
“The touch pool was the highlight for our 4-year-old. She slowly reached out touched a starfish then looked at us with the biggest eyes. It is bumpy. She touched it four more times.”

Istanbul Aquarium surprised us. We expected a typical fish-in-tanks setup but the Black Sea to Pacific journey theme is genuinely clever. Each zone has different architecture reflecting the region. The shark tunnel is shorter than Dubai's but the sharks are closer.
