Tips & Tricks from Real Parents

1

The zoo is on a hill. Bring a baby carrier instead of a stroller. Some paths are steep and you will do more carrying than rolling.

2

The golden monkey exhibit is the hidden gem. They are incredibly active in the morning and twice as playful as the pandas.

3

Skip the zoo food. Pack a picnic and eat at one of the shaded tables near the children's zoo instead.

4

The aquarium section is small but delightful. The jellyfish tank mesmerizes toddlers for ages.

5

Combine with Tiger Dream Waterfall Park next door. For some sections it is the same ticket. The waterfall hike is gentle and kid-friendly.

A Real Parent's Story

We saw a golden monkey steal a tourist's sunglasses

A golden monkey jumped from a branch, grabbed a man's sunglasses off his face, and inspected them like it was shopping. My toddler laughed so hard she snorted.

The golden monkey enclosure is open-air with viewing platforms. A tourist leaned in too close and a monkey snatched his sunglasses clean off his face. It did not run. It sat there, put them on, looked around, and tossed them back. The whole crowd cracked up. My 3-year-old still asks where the monkey with glasses went every time she sees a photo.
