Tips & Tricks from Real Parents

1

Take the tram (free with entry) to the top of the gardens and walk down - saves little legs and gives you the downhill view.

2

The canopy walkway sways gently and might scare very young kids; test with a short walk before committing to the full length.

3

Pack a picnic - there are beautiful shaded lawns near the greenhouse complex and very few crowds on weekdays.

A Real Parent's Story

A garden so big we got lost (and didn't mind)

We walked through a glasshouse full of carnivorous plants and ended up at a canopy walkway above the treetops. The kids thought we were in Jurassic Park.

My husband thought a botanical garden would be boring for the kids, but Queen Sirikit won him over. The glasshouse complex is stunning - multiple domes with different climate zones. The rainforest dome had a waterfall inside it, and the kids loved the carnivorous plant section. The canopy walkway was the highlight: walking above the actual forest floor with views over the valley. We spent 3 hours and only covered about half the gardens. The tram saved us when the little one got tired.
