Tips & Tricks from Real Parents
The night tram rides are the main event. Go for the 6 PM first session — animals are most active and the crowd is smallest.
Bring cash for animal food (carrots and bananas to feed giraffes). There are ATMs but the line is long.
The carnivore zone (lions, tigers) is impressive at night — their eyes glow in the dark. Kids find it thrilling.
The predator show at the outdoor arena is worth the 20-minute wait. Arrive early for good seats.
The temperature drops noticeably after sunset. Bring a light jacket even in the hot season.

A Real Parent's Story
A deer ate my daughter's shoe
“In the open walking zone, a friendly deer trotted up, sniffed my 5-year-old's sparkly shoe, and nibbled it. She yelped, then laughed so hard she snorted. The deer didn't let go for 10 seconds. Best photo of 2024.”

Chiang Mai Night Safari is not as polished as Singapore's version but it has a charming, raw authenticity. The open zones let animals roam freely and come right up to the tram. The giraffe feeding platform is the highlight — they stick their long necks right into the tram. The walking trails are well-lit and safe. For the price, it's excellent value. Our kids (5 and 8) were captivated the entire 3 hours.
