Tips & Tricks from Real Parents
Book months in advance for the single-day visit — it sells out 4-6 weeks ahead during high season (November-February).
The minimum age for the single-day program is 5. For the overnight program, it's 10. Don't try to bring younger kids — they won't refund you.
Wear dark-colored clothes that can get muddy. You'll be in the river with the elephants and light colors show everything.
The drive from Chiang Mai city takes 1-1.5 hours. The van picks you up at 7 AM from your hotel.
No riding allowed here — and that's the point. If a sanctuary offers elephant rides, it's not ethical. ENP is the gold standard.

A Real Parent's Story
Bathing with elephants changed how my daughter sees animals
“She scrubbed mud off a rescued elephant's back and the elephant gently sprayed her with water. She laughed and cried at the same time. She asked me later 'Mama, why would anyone hurt them?' I didn't have a good answer.”

Elephant Nature Park is not a tourist attraction — it's a rescue and rehabilitation center. Our guide shared each elephant's story: one was a logging elephant with a broken leg, another was rescued from a riding camp. My 9-year-old understood the mission and treated the elephants with such tenderness. This isn't just a fun day out — it's an education in compassion. Every family should experience this.
