A Real Parent's Story

The seal that posed for photos

A harbor seal swam up to the glass, turned sideways, and floated perfectly still while my daughter took 'photos' with her toy camera.

The seal exhibit has an underwater viewing area that's pure magic. My daughter was pretending to take photos with a little camera toy. A harbor seal noticed her, swam right up, floated horizontally, and just posed. It stayed there, turning to show different angles, for five solid minutes. A keeper told us this particular seal does this with children regularly. My daughter still believes she's a wildlife photographer.
